new skills to other athletes, including younger athletes who are new to Special Olympics Idaho.
He also serves as a volunteer at his County and Area Program fundraising events.

Favorite sports: Every sport, but especially basketball and swimming.

Proudest accomplishments: 1) Being chosen to compete as a member of Team
USA at the Ninth Special Olympics World Summer Games in 1995. 2) Accomplishing a skill level that
gave him the opportunity to participate on Unified Sports teams.

Something else you might not know about John: He realized a personal goal
when he competed at the Ninth Special Olympics World Summer Games in New Haven, Connecticut in 1995,
where he earned gold, silver and bronze medals in the 200 meter individual medley, 50 meter butterfly
and 100 meter breaststroke. In addition to being a talented athlete, John is also an excellent artist.

What he's known for: His work ethic, "I can" attitude, and leadership by example.
John is also known for his strong swimming technique and ability to teach technical skills to other swimmers.
