Lewis Clark Special Olympics recently became LC STORM, and we are having a great time with our new "mascot". LC Storm is a growing team with several new athletes, Unified partners, and volunteers joining every month. We have athletes from Lewiston and Clarkston, but we also have athletes as part of our team from Orofino, Peck and Lapwai. We are gaining Unified Partners from the High School and Jr. High and from all areas of the community. Our goal is that if there is one athlete out there that does not know about us, then we need to find them so they can become a part of our Special Olympics family. If it means giving a speech or driving out of town to meet with them then that is what we will do. Special Olympics changes lives, and we are Proud to be a part of the team.

WHAT SPORTS ARE OFFERED
Lewis Clark is a year-round team offering all the sports available in Idaho. We offer Bowling, Floor Hockey, Downhill Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Snowboarding, Snowshoeing, Basketball,track and field, softball, golf, cycling, swimming, powerlifting,and Volleyball. Please call for information about joining our team as an athlete or volunteer. It will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

FUN ACTIVITIES There will be a party for all athletes following regionals. We will meet at McSorely Elementary School at 3:00 pm on September 29th for dancing and a BBQ. We need to know how many people will be attending so call Michelle today to reserve your spot.Come and help us celebrate a wonderful day.

FUNDRAISERS COMING UP
1st Annual Fall Show and Shine. Time to register your car, truck, motorcycle. Anything with an engine and wheels. This is September 29th and will be at the same time as our regional softball and golf tournament

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Our team is always looking for volunteers! We have over 100 athletes that make volunteering fun and rewarding! In addition to coaching, our volunteers help make sure games run smoothly for our athletes. Our Class A volunteers are over 18 years of age and have passed a fingerprinting/background check. We also utilize junior volunteers, from 8 to 18, under the supervision of a Class A volunteer. Participation in Special Olympics is FREE to the athlete. In order to accomplish this, our team must raise funds for equipment, uniforms and registration fees at state-level competitions. Your contributions of time and money really do make a difference! To make a tax-deductible donation, make your check payable to SPECIAL OLYMPICS and mail to Lewis Clark Special Olympics, P.O.
