SPECIAL OLYMPICS TOWN HALL MEETING
On Friday, June 6, 2008, at the Ameritel Inn Idaho Falls Spectrum, located at 2501 S. 25th Street East, Ammon, Idaho representatives from Special Olympics Idaho will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting. This meeting is open to the public from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Town Hall Meeting is an opportunity to learn more about Special Olympics Idaho and upcoming 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games. YOUNG ATHLETES PROGRAM DEMONSTRATION
Special Olympics Idaho is pleased to announce that Young Athletes has arrived in Idaho for children 2 through 7 years old with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics Idaho will be holding a FREE demonstration during the State Summer Games on SATURDAY, JUNE 21st at the BOYS and GIRLS CLUB located at 610 E. 42nd ST in BOISE from 3pm-4pm.
Young Athletes engages children with intellectual disabilities through developmentally appropriate play activities designed to foster physical, cognitive, and social development; welcomes family members of children with intellectual disabilities to the Special Olympics network of support; and raises awareness about the abilities of children with intellectual disabilities through inclusive peer participation, demonstrations and other events. The program can be used in a variety of environments: from individual family settings, to classrooms to community programs. Young Athletes seeks to offer families a community network experience that supports the development of their young children.
